What's in the Box? Week 1


Howdy folks! The first week of our CSA is already here! This week you will be receiving lots of yummy greens- kale, salad greens, and Swiss chard. You will also receive peppers and a baby squash or two. Since this box is a bit light, as first weeks usually are, you will also receive an extra surprise!

I have had a couple people ask about the Swiss chard, so this may be new to a lot of you. I like to cook it like spinach, but you could also eat it raw if that's your kind of thing. I have also fixed it before like wilted lettuce, which is cooked in lots of bacon grease, so probably not the most healthy option! I have also heard that you can cook the stalks like asparagus, but I haven't personally tried it.

I hope you all enjoy your first week and be sure to bring back your week 1 crates to the drop off next week to rotate with your 2nd crate.
